Excellence Award Programme 2026 ResultsThe Bed & Breakfast Association New Zealand was delighted to recognise and celebrate excellence in hosted accommodation at our 2026 Awards Dinner, held as part of the BBANZ National Conference in Christchurch. Our awards acknowledge members who consistently deliver outstanding guest experiences and demonstrate the high standards of hospitality that make New Zealand's hosted accommodation sector so special. Tim and Mary's dedication to hospitality, presentation, guest care and overall quality made The Olive Rabbit a standout recipient of this prestigious award. Winner – Rising StarTwo Rivers Ohakune The Rising Star Award celebrates businesses that are making a significant impact early in their journey. Scott and Ula have demonstrated exceptional promise, passion and commitment to delivering a high-quality hosted accommodation experience. Supreme Award WinnerThe Olive Rabbit The Supreme Award represents the highest honour presented by the Bed & Breakfast Association New Zealand. This award recognises a property that exemplifies excellence in hosted accommodation and serves as an outstanding ambassador for our industry. Congratulations to Tim and Mary Wood of The Olive Rabbit for this remarkable achievement. Recognising Excellence in Hosted AccommodationThe Bed & Breakfast Association New Zealand is proud to represent accommodation providers who deliver authentic hospitality, personal service and memorable experiences for visitors travelling throughout New Zealand. We thank all members who participated in this year's awards programme and congratulate our winners and finalists for their dedication to excellence. We look forward to continuing to celebrate and promote the very best of New Zealand hosted accommodation. Who can enter?Any member of Bed & Breakfast Association New Zealand who has been assessed. Why?The Awards Programme provides you with the opportunity to be involved in a robust process that helps raise the profile of your operation and gain recognition for your achievements. Categories -There are two categories to choose from: Vision Insurance Business Awards:Vision Insurance Rising Star of the Year Award - This Award is open to members who have been in business for fewer than two years. Vision Insurance Exceptional Bed & Breakfast of the Year Award - This Award is open to full members of the Association who have been operating their business two or more years.
Vision Insurance Supreme Bed & Breakfast of the Year Award - the winner of this award is chosen from the winners of each of the two categories - Rising Star and Exceptional Bed & Breakfasts of the Year. Vision Insurance Essence of B&B of the Year Award:This Award recognises our members who go out of their way to provide an exceptional hosting experience for their guests within their business, their region and New Zealand. Note: The awards are about celebrating you and your business and the size doesn’t matter. They're about what you've done with your business and how you’ve you done it to make it into what it is today. You may enter more than one category
Need help?We have mentors who are available to help you with the entry process.
